Tonight the Round Rock ISD school board meets to further discuss the fate of superintendent Dr. Hafedh Azaiez, who was placed on administrative leave on Jan 6th. Access Education RRISD yesterday launched a letter writing campaign to coincide with the meeting in response to concerns from hundreds of RRISD parents and community members about the TEA’s lack of transparency, and removal of local control in this matter. Among the questions asked in the letter are:
- Why, when, and at whose request did the TEA begin an investigation into Dr. Hafedh Azaiez?
- What findings by the TEA led to Dr. Azaiez’s removal?
- Why hasn’t the TEA presented the results of a four-month-long investigation to the Board of Trustees, even as the TEA Monitor directed action based on the investigation?
- Why hasn’t the TEA placed weight on the results of the longstanding police investigation into the matter in question?

Tonight’s meeting begins at 5:30pm. The Board will hear public comment on these agenda items prior to going into closed session. Sign-up for public comment is open until 2:30PM today. In-person speakers may sign up to address the Board beginning at 4:30pm.
